Spoiled!

David and I are really blessed. I am trying to be more grateful and notice all of the many blessings we do have. Today I will share a few with you...
  • We live only 2.5 hours from our parents, grandparents, and other family members! Before August, we lived 12 hours away. Last weekend we went home for a visit. We saw The Avengers, my Dad took me to get my hair cut and for a manicure, we ate lots of good food, and were able to spend time with lots of family for Mother's Day weekend.
I took this at church last week. David and Dad are both wearing gray suits, white shirts, black shoes, and light blue & gray ties.
  • Our apartment is spacious (compared to our last one ;) ). We have everything we need and a lot of things we don't need. We are even attempting a garden in the tiny space we kinda have (maybe I'll share that story another time).
Ace, our pepper plant.

Our garden isn't much... We'll see what happens!
  • We now have two cars! Since we moved to Moscow, we've been a one car family. It forced us to be strategic, but I enjoyed spending car time with David dropping him off, picking him up, or usually him dropping me off, or picking me up.

Our new-to-us 98 Honda Accord Ex. The previous owner took good care of the car and we hope it will serve it's purpose!
  • David has finished his first year of law school! That's 1/3 of the way done people! He is doing very well and enjoys it. He got an A in his two-semester Legal Research and Writing class, which is 5 credits and his teacher said his final brief was the best in the class. She's entering it into some kind of competition... I am really proud of his hard work. Getting an A in law school is pretty tricky stuff! He currently has an internship with the superior court judge over Asotin, Garfield, and Columbia Counties in Washington and is working hard.

  • David's parents were very generous and bought us an air conditioner! I can't wait to use it... we just need to figure out how to install it.

  •  I have a job. Although it isn't the job I want, I know of many others in this area that don't have any income. I am also fortunate to have a summer job lined up that will give us extra income (I still get paid for my current job through the summer).
One of the things I don't need, but have... David got me a Kindle for our anniversary. I am enjoying the free ebooks from the library.
  • We have the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am so grateful for the temple and prayer. mormon.org
These are just a few things... We really are fortunate. What are you feeling blessed for today?

  1. First off I have to say that your dad looks very young. I was shocked to read that it was your dad. Good genes I guess...you inherited them I'm sure. You're so pretty.
So good to hear how you're doing. I will be planting my pot again...remember how it didn't always last? I don't think I have a green thumb but I keep trying. Good luck with the garden. I can't wait for the day when we have one.
I too am grateful for so many things. Right now it's family. I miss my family terribly but it's like the saying goes, "You don't miss something until it's gone". It's hard being far away from family but we're so grateful to be part of good ones. That's what this plan is all about...families. Glad you are close to yours though. Miss you :)

  2. P.S. Did we ever doubt that David was the brightest crayon in the box? I think not. We knew it the first time he gave a comment in Sunday School. Drew and I agreed we always learned the most when David was there. He brings so much to the table. He'll be a fabulous lawyer.
